Hate crimes against Muslim Canadians have doubled in the last 3 years and kids are not immune. 14 & Muslim serves as a tool to inspire conversations about Islamophobia and its effects on Muslim youth. The film seeks to generate empathy and respect among students across cultural and religious differences, shatter faith based stereo-types, and encourage interfaith friendships. The film can be used to build educator and student capacity in order to create a more inclusive learning environment in the schools.

14 & Muslim presents Muslim students as part of the Canadian fabric of society, "normalizing" Canadian Muslims - which is much needed. ”
